UPPER STRASBURG, Pa. - A 21-year-old man was killed Tuesday night in a one-car accident in Letterkenny Township in Franklin County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Justin Lee Poe, of 10625 Upper Strasburg Road, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 11:40 p.m. accident in the 9000 block of Upper Strasburg Road, police said. Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said Poe died of head injuries due to blunt force trauma.

Conner said there will be no autopsy.

Police said Poe was westbound in a 1996 Ford Taurus at a high rate of speed when the car went into the eastbound lane. Poe tried to get the car back into the westbound lane, but lost control and went off the north side of the road, police said.

The car struck a wooden fence post and hit a tree, shearing the vehicle in half, police said. The car continued, striking another tree with the driver's side and spinning 180 degrees, police said.
