Maryland pageant contestants wanted



The Mrs. Maryland International Pageant is seeking contestants to represent Washington County in the Mrs. Maryland International 2007 Pageant, scheduled for Saturday, March 31.

The Miss Teen Maryland International Pageant is seeking contestants to represent Western Maryland in the Miss Teen Maryland International 2007 Pageant, also scheduled for March 31.

Mrs. Maryland contestants will compete in personal interview, aerobic wear, evening gown and platform. Contestants must be ages 21 to 56, work or live in Maryland, and married for six months.

Miss Teen Maryland contestants must be ages 13 to 18, and live or go to school in Maryland. They will compete in personal interview, aerobic wear, fun fashion wear, evening gown and platform.

The winners of each will receive all-expense-paid trips to Chicago to compete in the Mrs. International 2007 and Miss Teen International 2007 pageants.

Gallery plans black history programs



Volunteers are needed to do presentations on black history at Contemporary School of the Arts & Gallery Inc., 4 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown.

Prepare something five to 15 minutes long about those who have made an impression on you and your community. Presentations can cover any subject, such as music, poetry, inventions and community involvement.

Presenters are requested for events planned from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3; 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10; 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17; and1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24.
