Weather nonsense!

January 16, 2007|by ELIZABETH KRAMER

Rant

In Hagerstown, we have been on a roller coaster of wild weather. A week ago, it was 60 degrees. Last Thursday, I got in the car to go to school and discovered that I couldn't see the road through the frost on the windshield.

Even when it has been cold for a couple of days - anytime the sky hints at precipitation - it instantly becomes Florida weather and starts to rain.

As of yet, we have had just a few flurries that amounted to nothing. I don't know if cows are causing this crazy weather or if it's global warming, but I want it to stop.

If it's going to be 60 degrees, autumn's official starting date might have to be postponed, as it seems winter is really getting the short end of the stick here. And if it's going to be 10 degrees, snow would really make me happy. Even if it wasn't on a school day. Just enough snow to make a snow ball and go sledding.

Still, there's no snow, no matter how many times I go to bed with my pajamas inside out and a spoon under my pillow.

I'm thinking about starting a petition against the weather deities, who are being seriously stubborn, lazy or both. Anyone else agree with me here? Send petitions to elizabethk@wheresthesnow.com.
