Teacher of the Year nominations sought

January 16, 2007

Now is the time to nominate your favorite teacher for the Educator of the Year.

The Educators of the Year Awards Banquet will be held at Fountain Head Country Club on April 25.

The deadline for nominations to be accepted is Jan. 24.

The Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc., in cooperation with Washington County public and private schools, is proud to recognize men and women who serve in a teaching capacity and who help ensure educational excellence in Washington County by recognizing them at this annual event.

Nominations are encouraged from Washington County public and private Schools. The top public and private school teacher will be named the Teacher of the Year. Anyone who has observed or benefited from an educator's skill and excellence is encouraged to nominate that individual.

Anyone with five or more years of experience who serves in a teaching capacity as a full-time, professional in a county public or private school is eligible. The key factor in the nomination process is the unique qualities that make an individual outstanding among their peers.

Nominees will be judged by a committee determined by the Chamber of Commerce. The committee will consist of representatives from Chamber business members, the community and the previous Teachers of the Year.
