'Halo 2' tournament set for Leitersburg cinema

Game Crazy is sponsoring a "Halo 2" tournament Saturday, Jan. 27, at Hagerstown 10 Cineplex northeast of Hagerstown.

The tournament starts at 10 a.m. and goes until it's over. This will be an elimination tournament with four players per round. "Halo 2" games will be played on an Xbox 360. The video image for each of the four players' games will be displayed in a split-screen image on a 40-foot-wide movie screen.

The tournament is for all ages; players younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult. "Halo 2" has a mature rating.

The cost is $10 for players to compete and $5 for spectators. Players can preregister at Hagerstown 10 Cineplex, 20135 Leitersburg Pike, 301-797-7270; at Game Crazy, 1580 Wesel Blvd., Hagerstown, 301-791-7180; or at Game Crazy in the Kmart shopping center on West Patrick Street in Frederick, Md., 301-668-1785.

Players can register up to game day. Organizers ask competitors to register in advance so organizers can get an idea of how many players to expect. Spectator tickets are purchased on game day.
