January 11, 2007

Two Hagerstown men accused of a home-invasion robbery and other crimes were in custody again Wednesday night on new charges.

Joshua Boyd Cook, 30, and Jason Erwin Bender, 29, both of 242 1/2 N. Locust St., were implicated in robberies Nov. 27, 2006, at Snyder's Metal Processing, and Nov. 21, 2006, at Pope Tire Service by Bender's girlfriend, according to a charging document.

They also are accused of robbing a family of four in Hagerstown on Nov. 28, 2006, according to the document.

The charges against Cook and Bender in the Snyder's Metal Processing robbery include armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and theft, according to Washington County District Court records.

A charging document states that the owner of Snyder's Metal Processing told police a man wearing a nylon stocking mask and carrying a sawed-off shotgun demanded money from him, and he turned over between $1,000 to $1,200 in cash.
