The 91st Pennsylvania Farm Show is under way at the Farm Show Building in Harrisburg. It will be running until Saturday, Jan. 13 at 5 p.m.

The show is the largest indoor agricultural event in the nation, featuring 6,000 animals and 8,000 exhibits, and its attended by hundreds of thousands of people.

One of the featured themes to this year's Farm Show is energy. See the future of energy in several demonstrations and exhibits. Learn how agriculture will be an important source of your energy some day. Enjoy interactive hands-on energy demonstrations.

There is about every farm animal you could want - dairy, dogs, horses, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, sheep and swine. Learn about nutrition from the Dairy Princess.

On Jan. 11, there will be an Irish dance demonstration and on Friday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. and noon, there will be a "dancing tractor demonstration" by the Roof Garden Tractor Buddies of Somerset County.

Be sure to allow time to visit the food court. Here you will find some of the best food in Pennsylvania served by all the major commodity groups who use the profits to support their agricultural organizations.

To get to the Farm Show, just drive north on Interstate 81 about 50 miles and follow the signs to the Farm Show.

It is worth the trip.
