Report card on ethics

The following are some of the survey questions from the 2006 Report Card on the Ethics of American Youth and how students in the Greencastle-Antrim School District and nationwide answered the questions.

1. Physical violence (fighting, bullying, intimidation) is a big problem at my school.

· Greencastle - 8.0 percent strongly agreed with the statement.

· Nationwide - 11.2 percent strongly agreed with the statement.

2. In your personal life, how important to you is having a good moral character?

· Greencastle - 42.4 percent said it was essential.

· Nationwide - 43.8 percent said it was essential.

3. How many times did you cheat during a test at school in the past year

· Greencastle - 43.8 percent said they never cheated.

· Nationwide - 39.8 percent said they never cheated.

4. It is not worthwhile to lie or cheat because it hurts your character.

· Greencastle - 42.0 percent strongly agreed with the statement.

· Nationwide - 34.2 percent strongly agreed with the statement.

5. How many times you took a weapon to school in the past year.

· Greencastle - 8.8 percent said they took a weapon at least once.

· Nationwide - 10.3 percent said they took a weapon at least once.
