HARRISBURG, Pa. - Aaron Hill scored 18 points and hit the game-winning shot to lead No. 1 Chambersburg to a 42-41 Mid-Penn Commonwealth victory over Bishop McDevitt on Friday.

The Trojans were down by 13 points at halftime, but came out strong after the break, holding McDevitt (6-8, 4-4) to just 11 second-half points.

Armond Perez added 11 points and seven rebounds for the Trojans (10-0, 7-0), while DeVonte Merritt had seven rebounds and five steals.

No. 2 Hedgesville 66, Musselman 37

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Michael Lopez scored 27 points and J. R. Mayles scored 20 to lead Hedgesville (7-0) over Musselman.

Chris Hite led the Applemen (2-5) with 12 points.

North Hagerstown 47, Brunswick 43

Tyrone Wheeler scored 14 of his game-high 19 points in the second half of North Hagerstown's MVAL Antietam win over Brunswick.


Wheeler added 12 rebounds, three steals and three blocks, while Marcellus Sumlin scored 11 points and Diez Johnson grabbed six boards for the Hubs (3-6, 2-0).

Andrew Simpson led Brunswick (5-5, 2-1) with 11 points.

South Hagerstown 94, Clear Spring 53

CLEAR SPRING - Muzammil Bhutto had a game-high 25 points, eight rebounds and five assists as South Hagerstown got its first win of the season, cruising past Clear Spring in an MVAL Antietam game.

Shane Santell had 17 points and five assists and Steven Burnett had 14 points and four assists to lead the Rebels (1-7, 1-1). Sequan Baker had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Alvin Roberson had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Tyler Shifler led Clear Spring (3-5, 0-3) with 15 points and Brett Turner added 14.

St. Frances 61, St. Maria Goretti 46

BALTIMORE - Brooks Bollinger and Kevin Breslin each had 14 points for St. Maria Goretti in a Baltimore Catholic League loss to St. Frances Academy (9-3, 3-1).

John Duhring had 10 points and Brendan Engle added five rebounds for the Gaels (6-8, 0-3).

Smithsburg 48, Catoctin 45

SMITHSBURG - Josh Edwards scored 10 points, including the winning 3-pointer with one second left in overtime, to lift Smithsburg over Catoctin in an MVAL Antietam matchup.

Ondre Hardy had 11 points, 11 rebounds and five steals for the Leopards (2-7, 1-1), while Terry Sword had seven points and 11 rebounds.

Southern Fulton 57, Hancock 55

HANCOCK - Quinton Hall scored 15 points on five 3-pointers as Southern Fulton rallied from a 21-14 halftime deficit to edge Hancock on the road in overtime.

Zach Mellott scored 10 points and Brad Divel added nine for Southern Fulton (7-4).

Steven Beaver led all scorers with 22 points, while Dustin Hull had nine for the Panthers (3-7).

St. James 71, CHEN 63

FREDERICK, Md. - Eddie Dorsey had 30 points and seven rebounds to lead St. James past CHEN in the Oriole Classic at Maryland School for the Deaf.

Mike Russ had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Saints (5-2), while Spencer Draper added seven points and seven assists.

Berkeley Springs 62, Paw Paw 31

PAW PAW, W.Va. - Nathan Sirbaugh had a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds to lead Berkeley Springs in a rout of Paw Paw.

Foster Sirbaugh scored 12 points for the Indians (4-3), while Chris Sipe dished out eight assists.


No. 1 N. Hagerstown 71, Brunswick 47

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Cara Thompson had 23 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and five steals as North Hagerstown rebounded from a 17-13 first-quarter deficit and cruised to an MVAL Antietam victory.

Larae Allen also recorded a double-double with 11 points, 12 boards and seven blocks while Kirkston Mitchell chipped in with 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists for North (8-1, 2-0).

Parkersburg South 71, No. 2 Hedgesville 57

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. - Ashton Butler scored 35 points, including six 3-pointers and 5-of-5 at the free-throw line for Hedgesville, but Parkersburg South - ranked third in West Virginia - outscored the Eagles, 26-12 in the second quarter en route to a non-league win. Hedgesville falls to 5-3 with the loss, while Parkersburg South improves to 7-2.

Catoctin 52, Smithsburg 40

THURMONT, Md. - Emily Hargreaves had 11 points for Smithsburg in an MVAL Antietam loss to Catoctin (4-5, 2-0).

Bethany Garnand had seven rebounds, Hargreaves had six and Gretchen Downey added five for the Leopards (2-7, 0-2).

Waynesboro 53, Greencastle 50

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Mallory Wishard had 24 points and 13 rebounds as Waynesboro overcame a six-point halftime deficit to defeat Greencastle in a Mid-Penn Capital game.

Jillian Aldridge had 11 points and nine rebounds and Jenna Lininger had seven points, seven assists and five steals for the Maidens (5-6, 4-1).

Meghin Palmer had 12 points and Chelsea Wolff and Alesha Brechbiel each had 10 for the Blue Devils (1-10, 1-3).

Big Spring 50, James Buchanan 34

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Amy Heisey had 10 points and five blocks in James Buchanan's Mid-Penn Capital loss to Big Spring (4-7, 2-3).

Jen McDaniel added eight points and five rebounds for the Rockets (2-8, 0-4).
