Man hospitalized after stabbing

January 03, 2007

A man was taken to Washington County Hospital after a stabbing Tuesday night, a Hagerstown Police Department officer said.

Police responded to a report of a stabbing at 8:55 p.m. in the first block of North Potomac Street, a dispatcher said.

An ambulance and squad cars with lights flashing parked in a line across the street from City Hall, and a police officer carried what appeared to be a bloodied cloth.

Sgt. John Murray did not identify the victim, and he said he had no information about the victim's condition.

He said late Tuesday that he believed the victim knew the assailant, but no arrests had been made.
