As the streets of Manhattan filled with tourists and shoppers making their way through the city on Friday, Dec. 15, a Hagerstown teen's photograph was high above the crowd.

"Hands in the Air," a photograph by North Hagerstown High School ninth-grader Jacqueline Lynch, was selected as the Kodak "Picture of the Day." It was shown every few minutes on the Kodak digital billboard in Times Square and also was featured on the company's Web site.

Jacqueline is the daughter of Jim and Brenda Wolfensberger.

And how did Jacqueline, 14, react when she got word of the honor on Dec. 11?

"Oh my gosh, she was beyond excited," said Brenda Wolfensberger. Wolfensberger, who owns her own photography business, said her daughter likes to experiment behind the camera as well, trying different perspectives and angles as she shoots photographs.

Jacqueline, 14, periodically submits her photographs to the Kodak contest, when she thinks one of her photos is special.

"She did this all on her own. I was just blown away when I saw this one. It was really cool," Wolfensberger said of Jacqueline's winning photo.

For now, Jacqueline enjoys photography for its creativity but isn't thinking of it as a career. Her true aspiration is to study criminal justice.
