Tri-State area Christmas Eve services

Otterbein United Brethren Church, 146 Leitersburg St., Greencastle, Pa., the Christmas musical, The Wonders of His Love, will be presented this Friday at 7 p.m. and on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m.

Brownsville Church of the Brethren, 1911 Rohrersville Road, a Christmas Eve communion service at 7:30 p.m. will feature the cantata, Journey of Hope, presented by the chancel choir.

Bread and cup communion will follow.

Mount Nebo United Methodist Church, Boonsboro, the family Christmas Eve service begins at 7 p.m.

Music of the season will be presented by soloists and ensembles at 10:30 p.m.

The traditional candlelight service is at 11 p.m.

Maranatha Brethren Church, 19833 Scott Hill Drive, Hagerstown, a Christmas Eve candlelight service will begin at 7 p.m.

Christ's Reformed United Church of Christ, Hagerstown, family worship on Christmas Eve begins at 7:30 p.m. with lessons, carols, stories and candlelight.

Following an organ concert by Darleen Smith at 10:30 p.m., the joint communion worship begins at 11 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Royal giving a communion meditation.

Otterbein United Methodist Church, Hagerstown, family services on Christmas Eve begin at 6 p.m.

An informal service is at 8 p.m. followed by the candlelight service at 10:30 p.m.

St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Williamsport, the Rev. Mark Sandell will preach on the topic, Opening God's Present, at the 7 p.m. service which features communion and candle lighting.

There will be special music at 6:30 p.m.

St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Clear Spring, a Christmas Eve service of word and sacrament will begin at 10:30 p.m.

The cantata, Night of Wonder, will also be performed.

Chambersburg (Pa.) First Church of God, Christmas Eve candlelight services will be at 5, 7 and 11 p.m.

There will be a special activity for children at the 5 p.m. service. Communion will be celebrated at 11 p.m.

Church of Christ at Hagerstown, 10014 White Hall Road, a Christmas Eve candlelight communion service will begin at 7 p.m.

Salem Lutheran Church, 17626 Bakersville Road, Fairplay, Christmas Eve services will begin at 7 p.m. with a birthday cake.

At 11 p.m., the candlelight service will be held.

Church of the Apostles, Waynesboro, Pa., the Rev. Carol Kipe will be speaking on Christmas Miracles at the 7 p.m. Christmas Eve service with carols.

St. Augustine Catholic Church, Williamsport, Christmas Eve Mass is at 6:30 p.m.

St. James Catholic Church, Boonsboro, Christmas Eve Masses are at 4 and 5:30 p.m.

St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, the annual Christmas Eve candlelight service will be at 7:30 p.m.

The service will include the singing of favorite Christmas carols, candle lighting, special music by the youth and communion.

Pastor Mark Mooney's sermon message for the evening service Mary Had a Little Lamb.

Hilltop Christian Fellowship, 9508 National Pike, Big Pool, the Christmas Eve cantata will be presented at 7 p.m.

Salem Reformed Church, Pastor Steve Wagoner will speak on The Gift at the 7:30 p.m. service on Christmas Eve. Chrissy Cushwa will be liturgist.

There will be a Living Nativity at the service.

St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Leitersburg, Pastor Terry Culler will be speaking on the topic, Grace Upon Grace, at the 9 p.m. communion service Christmas Eve.

Valley Assembly of God, the Rev. Robert Jones will be speaking at the 6 p.m. Christmas Eve service of candlelight, music and readings on the topic, O Come Let Us Adore Him.

St. Paul's Reformed Church, east of Clear Spring, Pastor John Toms will be leading the 7 p.m. Christmas Eve service of carols, candles and communion.

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Christmas Eve services will be at 7 and 11 p.m. both with candles and communion and special music.

The sermon topic is Our Salvation Wrapped in Swaddling Clothes.

St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 53 N. Main St., Keedysville, will host the parish Christmas Eve service beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a concert of organ, handbell, and vocal music.

At the 7 p.m. candlelight communion service, St. Matthew's youth choir, the combined adult choirs from both congregations, and the parish handbell ringers will present additional numbers during the worship.

Manor Church of the Brethren, the 7:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service will feature scripture, carols, communion and music including The Hallelujah Chorus.

Unitarian Universalist Church, 13245 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, the 7 p.m. Christmas Eve service will feature the Rev. Valerie Wills speaking on the topic, Sending Light into the World.

There are no morning services Sunday.

Calvary Grace Brethren Church, there will be a 6 p.m. candlelight service on Christmas Eve.

Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Rohrersville, Christmas Eve candlelight service at 8 p.m. will feature the chime choir.

New Beginning Community Church, corner of Dual Highway and Beaver Creek Road, Hagerstown, Pastor Mark Snyder will speak on The Christ of Christmas at the 7 p.m. Christmas Eve candlelight service.

There will be music and refreshments.
