This is a listing of Tri-State area religious services scheduled for Sunday morning, Dec. 24, and Christmas Day, Dec. 25.




St. John's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Stephanie Yancy will preach this Sunday at the 8 a.m. communion service. There will be no 10:15 a.m. service.

There will be no Christian education classes.

On Christmas Day, the Rev. D. Stuart Dunnan, headmaster of St. James School, will preach at the 10 a.m. communion service featuring congregational carols.

St. Augustine Catholic Church, Williamsport, Christmas Day Mass is at 8:30 a.m.

St. James Catholic Church, Boonsboro, Christmas Day Mass is at 10:30 a.m.

St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Pastor David Kaplan will be preaching this Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. communion service on the topic, Pregnant Greetings.

Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:15 a.m.

St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, the Rev. Mark C. Mooney will share a message on the topic, Leaping Lizard, at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday.

Music by the children and Mooney and his puppet friend, Joseph, will also highlight the morning service.

Sunday School classes for children, youth and adults are at 10:45 a.m. Pastor Thom Smith's topic is The First Christmas Eve.

First Baptist Church, there will be a special brunch this Sunday at 9:45 a.m.

St. Catherine Eastern Orthodox Church, vespers are tonight at 6:30 p.m.

Father Dennis Buck will bring the Divine Liturgy of the 28th Sunday after Pentecost, Sunday before Nativity. Vespers will follow.

The Nativity Fast continues until Dec. 25, the Nativity of Christ.

Christ Reformed UCC in Cavetown, the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday will feature Pastor Carol Hallman speaking on the topic, Do You Hear What I Hear?

Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m.

St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, Hancock, this Sunday, regular morning services will be held.

On Christmas Day, Eucharist with carols will begin at 10 a.m.

Bahai Fireside, tonight at 6:30, Celeste Dixon will be guest speaker at the home of Paula Myers. Call 301-842-3081.

Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsport, Pastor Greg Martin will lead a service of carols and communion at 10:30 a.m. on Christmas Day.

Salem Lutheran Church, 17626 Bakersville Road, Fairplay, the children's Christmas program will be presented at 11:15 a.m.

Sunday school is at 10 a.m.

Valley Assembly of God Christian Life Center, 17544 York Road, Hagerstown, this Sunday Pastor Robert C. Jones will be speaking on the topic, No Room, at the 10 a.m. service.

There will be no Wednesday services.

New Hope Church of Christ, 30 W. Salisbury St., Williamsport, Evangelist Thomas Huff will bring a Christmas message.

The service and Sunday school begin at 9 a.m. in the old Williamsport Ambulance Company building beside the post office.

Bible study on Wednesdays is at 7 p.m. at the ambulance hall.

Calvary United Methodist Church, Martinsburg, W.Va., a Christmas concert will precede the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services this Sunday. The topic is Home for Christmas.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

Grace Brethren Church, 250 Philadelphia Ave., Waynesboro, Pa., Pastor Larry Weber will be speaking at morning worship at 10 a.m. this Sunday on the topic, The Consolation of Israel: A Light to All.

Zion United Church of Christ, at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday, the children's pageant will be presented. The title is The History of the 12 Days of Christmas and Just a Little Donkey.

Sunday school begins at 9:15 a.m.

Calvary Grace Brethren Church, Pastor Doug Courter will be speaking on the topic, A Very "Holmes" Christmas, at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday.

Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m.

Bible study is Tuesday at 10 a.m. Youth programs are at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Pikeside United Methodist Church, Paynes Ford Road and U.S. 11, Martinsburg, W.Va., the Rev. Thomas Young will be speaking at the 8:30 and 10:35 a.m. services this Sunday. The topic is The Miracle of Christmas.

Welty Church of the Brethren, Greensburg, tonight from 6 to 8 p.m., a Living Nativity will be held at the church.

Pastor James Flora will be speaking this Sunday at 10:40 a.m. on the topic, The Shepherds Find the Christ Child.

There is no Sunday school. There will be breakfast and the children's program at 9:15 a.m.

Mount Vernon Reformed UCC, Keedysville, Pastor Delancy Catlett will speak on the topic, A Christmas Message, at the 10:40 a.m. communion service this Sunday. Jonas Dawson will bring music.

Christ Reformed United Church of Christ, Sharpsburg, the children will bring the message at the 9 a.m. service this Sunday.

There is no Sunday school.

Emmanuel United Methodist Church, this Sunday at the 9:30 a.m. service, Pastor Ken Hawes's topic is A Word from Joseph.

Church school is at 10:45 a.m.

Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville, Pastor Tim Ritchey Martin's topic at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday is The Miracle of Christmas.

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Sharpsburg, Pastor Richard Hembrock will be speaking on the topic, God is Doing Great Things, at the 10 a.m. service this Sunday.
