Robbers held up three stores Monday afternoon and evening, the Hagerstown Police Department said.
In the first robbery, at about 3 p.m., a black male wearing a black jacket, black knit hat and dark pants told a cashier at the Hallmark Store at 1019 Maryland Ave. that he had a gun, police said. The male threatened to harm the cashier, and he demanded goods and cash. After the cashier complied, the male fled, police said.
The male was 6 feet tall and 250 pounds, police said.
At about 5 p.m., two black males in dark clothing showed a handgun and robbed United Petroleum at 890 Pennsylvania Ave., police said.
Two black males in dark clothing also showed a handgun while robbing Roxy's Liquors just before 10 p.m. at 761 E. Wilson Blvd., police said.
