The Washington County Friends of Education Exchange Club visited the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

"Dear Soldiers" books were delivered to those who had been injured in Iraq. These books contain a collection of letters from children across the United States, written in each child's own handwriting.

The letters offer soldiers, veterans and their families comfort, reassurance and a delightful dose of humor.

The goal was to bring some sunshine into the lives of the soldiers who have made the greatest personal sacrifice to protect our freedoms both in Iraq and here at home.
