TRENTON, N.J. - Charlene Phelps had a game-high 22 points and Mercer Community College (8-2) prevailed in overtime over Hagerstown Community College in the Mercer Holliday Mixer on Sunday.
Jamie Robinson had 11 points and 21 rebounds for the Hawks (12-3), who rallied from a 32-23 halftime deficit to take the lead in the second half.
"We led a couple times in the second half, but never by more than three," HCC coach Marlys Palmer said. "In overtime, (Samantha) Cain hit a 3-pointer early. They came back down and hit a 3 and that gave them a little momentum even though the score was tied. They scored again and we got down and we could never get back over the hump."
