St. John's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Scott Bellows will preach this Sunday at the 8 a.m. communion service and at the 10:15 a.m. communion/Advent lessons and carols services.

The parish and youth choirs will provide music at the later service.

Christian education classes for all ages begin at 9 a.m. The adult forum will address Spiritual Practices for Families, Part 2.

St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Pastor David Kaplan will be preaching this Sunday at the 8:15 a.m. chapel service and the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The topic is Joy Abounds.

Sunday school Christmas program begins at 9:15 a.m. There will be quiet communion at 2 p.m.

Asbury United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown, W.Va., the Rev. Rudolph Bropleh will be speaking at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday. The topic will be The Greatest Story Ever Told - The Problems with the Prophecy.


Youth fun night will be held at Shepherdstown Youth Center on Wednesday this week at 7 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran Church, Pastor Quentin Fleming will be celebrant and preacher at the 8 and 11 a.m. services this Sunday.

Margaret Harrison and Tony Howell will be assisting ministers. The sacrament of holy baptism will be administered at the late service. Music will feature the Trinity Ringers.

Pastor Micki Bond will lead the 9 a.m. contemporary worship which is signed for the deaf and held in Fellowship Hall.

Sunday school for all ages begins at 10 a.m. The annual Sunday school Christmas play begins at 4:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.

St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, the Rev. Mark Mooney will share a message on the topic, Look to Jesus, at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday. Mooney and his puppet friend, Joseph, will also highlight the morning service.

Sunday School classes for children, youth and adults are at 10:45 a.m.

First Baptist Church, the Rev. Thom Smith will speak at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday on the topic, The First Christmas Trip.

Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m.

St. Catherine Eastern Orthodox Church, vespers are tonight at 6:30 p.m.

On Sunday, Father Dennis Buck will celebrate the Divine Liturgy of the 27th Sunday after Pentecost, Worldly Attachments, Poor Excuses.

Church School is at 11:30 a.m. following liturgy.

The Nativity Fast continues until Dec. 25, the Nativity of Christ.

Christ Reformed UCC in Cavetown, the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday will feature Pastor Carol Hallman speaking on the topic, Chosen by God.

Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m. A Blue Christmas service will begin at 2 p.m.

Valley Assembly of God Christian Life Center, 17544 York Road, Hagerstown, this Sunday Pastor Robert C. Jones will be speaking on the topic, The People Who Missed Christmas, at the 10 a.m. service.

The Church of the Apostles (UCC), Waynesboro, Pa., the Rev. Jeffrey Whitman will speak this Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. service on the topic, Joyful Repentance.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

New Hope Church of Christ, 30 W. Salisbury St., Williamsport, Evangelist Thomas Huff will speak this Sunday on Adornments. The children's Christmas program will be presented during the worship service.

The service and Sunday school begin at 9 a.m. in the old Williamsport Ambulance Company building beside the post office.

Bible study on Wednesdays is at 7 p.m. at the ambulance hall.

Calvary United Methodist Church, Martinsburg, W.Va., the illustrated talk at the 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services this Sunday will be The Joy of Being Found.
