December 15, 2006

A man who robbed the Paramount branch of Susquehanna Bank might have been burned or gotten dye on his hands after a dye pack exploded as he fled the bank Thursday, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said.

The Sheriff's Department was searching for a man who showed a bank teller a handwritten note announcing a robbery at about 11:55 p.m. at the branch at 13418 Marsh Pike.

The man, who did not show a weapon, fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, the Sheriff's Department said.

He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall or 5 feet 9 inches tall with a slender build, dirty blond or brown hair and a mustache, the Sheriff's Department said. He is a white man or light-skinned black man, who is 30 to 40 years old. He was unshaven and wearing sunglasses, blue jeans, a blue denim jacket and a red baseball cap with the letter G on it.
