Santa Claus coming to park

WILLIAMSPORT - Santa Claus will be visiting Byron Memorial Park from Dec. 17 to 20 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The familiar holiday figure will be talking to youngsters. Treats will be provided by the Town of Williamsport. In addition, toys for needy kids and food for the Williamsport Food Bank will be collected at that time.

Local artist Ralph DeVore - in partnership with Williamsport Postmaster Mike Suder - has created another "Cancellation stamp" to commemorate this event.

A small fee will be divided between the food bank and the toys for the needy.

Legion plans New Year's Eve dance

WILLIAMSPORT - The Williamsport American Legion New Year's Eve dinner dance to be held on Sunday, Dec. 31, will begin at 6 p.m.


Dinner is to begin at 7 p.m. The meal will be followed by Dancing with Spotlights on You DJs from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The cost for members and guests, which includes dinner, open bar from 7 to 9 p.m., the dance, midnight toast, hats & noisemakers, is $15 per person.

Tickets are available at the Post 202 bar.

Church set to host living nativity

WILLIAMSPORT - St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 10813 Donelson Drive, Williamsport, will host a living nativity this Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. each night on the front lawn of the church.

The performances will feature young actors, live animals and music.

Visitors may sit in their vehicles or on straw bales.
