New employees are introduced at meeting

Four new county employees were introduced to the Washington County Commissioners on Tuesday.

· Thornton F. White III is an equipment operator I in the Highway Department.

· Michael E. Anders is an equipment operator I in the Highway Department.

· Scott J. Nipps is a plant operator trainee in the Department of Water Quality.

· Sarah M. Kozal is a GIS specialist in Information Technologies.

Cindy Mowen was introduced as a senior office associate in Human Resources, transferring from Emergency Services, according to a written statement from the county.

Coordinator, liaison positions approved

The Washington County Commissioners on Tuesday authorized the hiring of a drug court coordinator and a permanency planning liaison for Washington County Circuit Court.


Administrative Judge Frederick C. Wright III said salary and benefits for the positions will be paid by the state.

The drug court coordinator will manage the Juvenile Drug Court, which is being developed. The permanency planning liaison will monitor all termination of parental rights cases, and ensure they are concluded within the time standards mandated by state and federal guidelines, according to information provided by the county.
