CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Dry Run, Pa., man caught on camera tending to a marijuana patch was sentenced this week in Franklin County Court to five years on probation.
Dennis M. Reeder, 31, of 19332 Path Valley Road, will have to spend six months in Franklin County Prison and three more months on an electronic monitor as part of the sentence handed down Wednesday by Judge Douglas W. Herman.
Reeder pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver on Aug. 3, according to court records.
The Franklin County Drug Task Force hot line received a tip in June of a marijuana patch in a wooded area off Path Valley Road, according to the affidavit of probable cause. Police found 48 plants in plastic buckets surrounded by a mesh fence, according to court records.
The task force set up a hidden camera with a seismic detector able to take photographs when it detected footsteps, police said. The camera took pictures of a man with a rifle removing buds from the marijuana plants, police said.
