December 07, 2006

A Prince George's County, Md., man who caused an accident in March that sent three other people to area hospitals was ordered Wednesday to begin serving a one-year jail sentence, Washington County District Court records show.

Fletcher Ronnie Webb, 46, of Bladensburg, Md., was found guilty of driving while under the influence, failure to drive right of center and negligent driving.

Webb and a passenger were seriously injured March 11 when the vehicle he was driving crossed the center line on U.S. 340 and hit an oncoming vehicle driven by a Charles Town, W.Va., woman.

Webb, Webb's passenger and the driver and a passenger in the other vehicle were treated at area hospitals, The Herald-Mail reported.
