First Team

Maria Borland, So., F, North Hagerstown

Borland scored a team-high 21 goals in 17 games and added nine assists for the No. 1 Hubs.

Stephanie Borland, So., M, North Hagerstown

Borland complemented her identical twin, Maria, with 16 goals and 12 assists.

Erin Chafardon, So., F, McConnellsburg

Chafardon led the area in goals (36), points (86) and points per game (4.30).

Sarah Cogswell, Fr., F, Jefferson

Cogswell's 18 goals and five assists helped fuel the No. 3 Cougars' 20-game win streak.

Danielle Daughtridge, Sr., D, Boonsboro

Daughtridge's defensive play was a major reason the No. 4 Warriors posted six shutouts and the reason she was a Maryland All-State Honorable Mention selection.


Aissa Diehl, So., D, Jefferson

Diehl's defensive play helped put her team in the West Virginia state semifinals and earned her All-State First Team honors.

Lauren Hensley, So., F, Boonsboro

Hensley had 23 goals and eight assists in 15 games to lead Washington County with her 3.60 points per game.

Cara Jordan, Sr., M, Smithsburg

Jordan had a team-high 14 assists for the Maryland Class 1A state champions.

Shelby Layman, Jr., F, Smithsburg

Layman's 24 goals and 57 points were tops in Washington County.

Jenny Perry, So., F, Jefferson

Perry scored a team-high 20 goals and was a West Virginia All-State First Team selection.

Corrie Riffle, So., F, Berkeley Springs

Riffle led the No. 6 Indians to their first winning season with a team-high 26 goals.

Katie Seifarth, Sr., M, Smithsburg

Seifarth scored 12 goals and was a Maryland All-State Second Team selection for the Class 1A state champs.

Brittany Shadrach, Sr., GK, South Hagerstown

Shadrach couldn't possibly stop every shot against the Rebels, but she tried, recording a Washington County-high 217 saves.

Allie Snyder, Sr., M, North Hagerstown

Snyder had seven goals and seven assists and, defensively, helped the Hubs hold opponents to only nine goals in 17 games.

Player of the Year

Courtney Whorten, Sr., M, North Hagerstown

Whorten had a team-high 53 points (18 goals, 17 assists) for the No. 1 Hubs, and was a Maryland All-State First Team selection. She is North's all-time leader in goals (44) and assists (52).

Coach of the Year

Bill Fowkes, Smithsburg

Fowkes guided the Leopards to their second straight Maryland Class 1A state title and sixth straight West region crown.
