All-Area Girls Cross Country

First Team

Rachel Buser, Jr., Berkeley Springs

Runner of the Year

Buser is the All-Area Girls Runner of the Year for the third straight year. She won her third straight West Virginia Class AA-A state title. She also had victories at the Region II and Apple Valley League championships and the GEICO Classic, Forest Festival and Jefferson invitationals.

Brooke Boening, Sr., Jefferson

Boening was the West Virginia Region II Class AAA champ and placed fourth at states.

Tracey Forsythe, So., Williamsport

Forsythe placed second in Maryland Class 1A West and fourth at states for the area's top performances at both races.

McConnell was the Pennsylvania Independent Schools state runner-up and placed sixth at the Mid-Atlantic Prep League championships.

Sarah Morrison, Sr., Chambersburg

Morrison joined an elite list of four-time PIAA Class AAA state medalists after placing sixth at both the District 3 and Mid-Penn championships.

Haley Thomas, So., Chambersburg

Thomas earned two championship medals, placing 16th in the Mid-Penn and 19th in District 3 Class AAA.

Coach of the Year



Ray Shriver, Smithsburg

Shriver guided the Leopards to the Maryland Class 1A state title.

Hollenshead placed sixth at the District 3 Class AA meet and 13th at the Mid-Penn championships.
