WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

WILKESBORO, N.C. - The Hagerstown Community College women's basketball team came out hot, and stayed hot Sunday.

The Hawks shot 49 percent from the floor and 82 percent from the foul line and beat Wilkes College 94-53 in the second day of the Wilkes Mixer Tournament to remain undefeated.

Marisa Elliot and Jamie Robinson led HCC (10-0) with 17 points each, while Sam Cain added 14.

"Our shooting numbers have been incredible," said HCC coach Marlys Palmer. "We have been so fast down the floor. I don't know if this is the best start we have ever had, but it feels pretty good right now."

Robinson and Shuashanna Faulkner had seven rebounds each, while Alicia Myers finished with 13 points and five assists for the Hawks.
