Amy Landsman, daughter of Cathy and Jerry Landsman of Boonsboro, participated in the sixth annual Scholarship Competition at Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Va.

She was among 84 students, who have been accepted to the college, who competed for scholarships through an essay writing contest and interviews with faculty members.

Amy is a senior at Boonsboro High School.




Lester F. Joy III, son of Lester and Donna Joy of Martinsburg, W.Va. and the husband of Mandy Joy, graduated from Hyles Anderson College, Crown Point, Ind., on Feb. 1 with a Bachelor of Science degree in missions.

He is a 2002 graduate of Martinsburg Christian Academy.




Corina Campbell of Smithsburg, a junior at Robert Morris University, Pittsburgh, Pa., was inducted into the Pennsylvania Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Chi on Nov. 18.

Alpha Chi, established in 1922, is a co-educational, general honor society whose purpose is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students. To be eligible, a junior or senior student majoring in any academic discipline must carry a quality-point average of 3.75 or higher.
