The Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau has unveiled a new Walking Tour brochure for historic Hagerstown. The new guide is available at the CVB Visitors Welcome Center.

The eight-page, large-format brochure features sketches, photos, a map and 27 tour stops, as well as directions to each one. Familiar faces and places of historical significance to Hagerstown are featured on the cover, such as Edmund McIlhenny, George Custer, Mary Titcomb, Dr. Normal Scott, the Second Court House and the Hager House.

Sites on the walking tour route include The Maryland Theatre, Washington County Free Library, First Hose Co. of Hagerstown and several area churches.

Well-known local author and historian Roger Keller was the project director for the brochure. Keller, who works at the welcome center, said, "So many visitors come to see us, and are excited to learn about Hagerstown and Washington County. This walking tour brochure was a labor of love ... ."
