Grace 48, St. James 27

Kristin Serafini had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds as Grace Academy defeated St. James in the season opener for both teams Tuesday.

Megan Cox scored a game-high 15 points, Rebecca Morgan had 12 points and Megan Everett added seven rebounds for the Knights.

CVCS 54, Broadfording 38

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Miranda Payne scored a game-high 28 points and had six steals to lead Cumberland Valley Christian to a season-opening victory over Broadfording in a Mason Dixon Christian Conference matchup.


Lauren Peterson scored 11 of her 16 points in the third quarter - in which CVCS outscored the Lions, 17-2 - and also added eight rebounds and six steals for the Blazers.

Taylor Capshaw had 21 points and seven rebounds, while Emma Stull had 14 points and six boards for Broadfording (0-3, 0-1).


St. James 65, Grace 42

Mike Russ had 19 points and nine rebounds as St. James defeated Grace Academy in the season opener for both teams.

T.K. Washington had eight points and 10 rebounds, Cyrus Morgan had 11 points and five steals, Eddie Dorsey had 12 points and Drew St. Lawrence added six assists for the Saints.

Zack Koontz had 18 points for the Knights.

CVCS 72, Broadfording 34

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Andrew Larson scored a game-high 18 points and added five assists as Cumberland Valley Christian opened its season with a victory over Broadfording in an MDCC game.

Mike Kalathas had 13 points and seven steals, Charles McBeth had 11 points and seven rebounds and John Watson added seven rebounds for the Blazers.


Washington County senior all-stars go 0-1-1

FREDERICK, Md. - Washington County tied Carroll County 0-0 and lost 2-0 to Frederick County at the MVAL Senior All-Star Games at Tuscarora.

In the other game, Carroll County defeated Frederick County, 2-1.
