WILLIAMSPORT - Traffic was backed up on Interstate 81 this morning after a van hauling a trailer struck a guardrail on the Potomac River bridge.

Maryland State Police Trooper Candidate A. Thomas said the van hauling a trailer was driving south at about 7:20 a.m. when it struck the guardrail at the bridge.

No one was injured, he said.

Police redirected traffic onto U.S. 11, he said.

One southbound I-81 lane was shut down for the accident, but was opened by 8:30 a.m., he said.
