Fulton County cabin is destoyed in fire



McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - A hunting cabin at the intersection of Ulrich Road and Lincoln Highway in Fulton County was destroyed by fire Thursday night, said John Saville, a firefighter with the McConnellsburg Fire Department.

The blaze was fully involved when firefighters arrived after being dispatched about 10:30 p.m., Saville said. Three adults who were in the cabin were not injured, he said.

The fire occurred when a chair at the cabin somehow was ignited, and the fire spread to the rest of the structure, Saville said.

McConnellsburg personnel were assisted by firefighters from Hustontown, Needmore, Mercersburg and St. Thomas, Saville said.




Sheriff's Department responds to incidents



The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following calls since Wednesday, Sgt. Roy Harsh said.

Wednesday

· At 10:52 a.m., an attempted breaking and entering was reported in the 11600 block of Cedar Ridge Road. Damages were estimated at $250.

· At 11:06 a.m., money and bank deposit slips were reported stolen from the Waffle House at 306 E. Potomac St. in Williamsport.

· At 12:45 p.m., 90 DVDs were reported stolen from Best Value Inn at 18221 Mason Dixon Road.

· At 4:33 p.m., copper wire and scrap wire were reported stolen in the 17500 block of York Road.

· At 5:26 p.m., a jewelry box, a checkbook and a handgun were reported stolen in the 10100 block of Mooresville Road.

· At 7:48 p.m., a front window was reported broken out at the Sunset Tavern at 16716 National Pike.

· At 9 p.m., the driver's side window to a 2003 Honda Element was reported broken out while parked in the 100 block of Sunset Avenue in Williamsport.

· At 10:06 p.m., a door jamb to a house was reported broken in the 700 block of Medway Road.

· At 10:51 p.m., double glass doors to a home were found opened in the 4400 block of Main Street in Rohrersville.

Thursday

· At 10:46 a.m., a vehicle was reportedly doing "donuts" in the parking lot of Sharpsburg Park on East High Street. Damages were estimated at less than $500.

· At 10:01 p.m., an attempted breaking and entering was reported at Hahn's BP Station at 22305 Jefferson Blvd. The caller said it looked as if the doors had been forced open and the air conditioning pushed out.

Friday

· At 2:33 a.m., a wallet was reported stolen at Prime Outlets at Hagerstown.

· At 5:13 a.m., a purse was reported stolen from a dressing room at Ralph Lauren at Prime Outlets at Hagerstown.




Hagerstown police investigate calls



The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following calls since Wednesday, Sgt. Paul Kifer said.

Wednesday

· At 7:55 a.m., alleged domestic violence was reported in the 600 block of Knightsbridge Drive. It was a verbal argument only.

· At 9 a.m., an alleged assault was reported at South Hagerstown High School.

· At 11:01 a.m., an alleged assault was reported in the 1000 block of Security Road.

· At 12:39 p.m., a stabbing was reported in the 1400 block of Haven Road. It was a nonlife-threatening injury.

· At 4:18 p.m., a copper gas pipe was reported cut in the 200 block of South Locust Street.

· At 7:50 p.m., a pumpkin reportedly was thrown through a back sliding door to a home in the 400 block of Clarendon Avenue.

· At 10:27 p.m., a burglary was reported in the 600 block of North Prospect Street.

· At 11:05 p.m., a burglary was reported in the 100 block of North Potomac Street.

Thursday

· At 2:01 a.m., stereo equipment was reported stolen in the first block of North Locust Street.

· At 7 a.m., a person was reported injured in the 400 block of North Locust Street.

· At 7:34 a.m., a chain saw and golf clubs were reported stolen in the 300 block of Radcliff Avenue.

· At 11:30 a.m., a wallet was reported found in the first block of North Potomac Street.

· At 12:44 p.m., a 2000 Plymouth Breeze previously reported stolen was reported found in West Virginia.

· At 7:17 p.m., alleged domestic violence was reported in the 1500 block of Violet Drive.

· At 7:55 p.m., tires to two vehicles were reported slashed in the first block of Broadway.

· At 8:22 p.m., alleged domestic violence was reported in the 700 block of Washington Avenue.

· At 9:05 p.m., alleged domestic violence was reported in the 100 block of West North Avenue.
