FREDERICK, Md. - The oldest performers at the Russian American Kids Circus are barely old enough to drive.
But, perhaps, riding a bicycle backward with your face next to the seat, your legs over the handlebars, using your hands to pedal with two other people on the bike - with a girl balancing on the back of one of the passengers - is more complicated than parallel parking.
Under the guidance of former Moscow Circus star Alex Berenchtein, a troupe of Russian and Russian-American youths ages 6 to 16 will run the show for the Russian American Kids Circus performances Friday at the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick.
The young artists will perform soaring acrobatics, synchronized unicycling, black-light juggling, clowning and acts of precision balancing, said the circus' president and marketing director Regina Berenchtein.
