Washington County Board of Education President W. Edward Forrest recognized two outgoing board members at Tuesday night's meeting.
Russell F. Williams and Jacqueline B. Fischer were recognized for their years of service on the board, each having served one term.
Forrest called Williams an "advocate for those less fortunate," and lauded Fischer's attention to detail and contribution to board discussions.
He said both put the needs of students first and were assets to the Board of Education.
Two new board members, Ruth Anne Callaham and William H. Staley, will begin their four-year terms on the board at the Dec. 5 meeting.
