Tire store robbed

A white male with a sawed-off shotgun took money from a Frederick Street tire store Tuesday, the Hagerstown Police Department said.

The male, who wore a cream-colored jacket, blue jeans, a dark baseball cap and pantyhose over his face, fled from the store on foot after the robbery at Pope Tire Service, 261 Frederick St., at about 4:15 p.m., police said.
