Gunshot victim's condition upgraded at W.Va. hospital

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A 26-year-old man who was shot several times early Sunday as he was leaving the 5th Dimension nightclub at the intersection of Charles Town Road and Royal Crest Drive in Berkeley County was in satisfactory condition Tuesday evening at City Hospital, a hospital nursing supervisor said.

The shooting occurred about 1:30 a.m. in a parking lot behind the 5th Dimension when the victim, Teezar D. Taylor, was driving away from the bar, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department.

Taylor drove himself to City Hospital, where he was rushed into surgery with life-threatening wounds, the release said.

Based on witnesses and evidence from the scene, police said they are gathering information on the assailant.
