Local drivers injured in Pa. 316 crash



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Hagerstown woman and a Waynesboro, Pa., man were injured Monday morning in a two-vehicle accident in Quincy Township.

Pennsylvania State Police said Georgia Seabolt of Hagerstown drove into oncoming traffic at the intersection of Pa. 316 and Nunnery Road and hit head-on a vehicle driven by Thomas Gilson of Waynesboro.

Seabolt was treated at York (Pa.) Hospital and discharged, a hospital spokesperson said Monday night. Gilson was not listed as a patient there, the spokesperson said.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.




Pa. man injured in single-vehicle crash



SCOTLAND, Pa. - A Chambersburg, Pa., man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday, police said.

Quinn Eugene Witherspoon II was driving south on Rowe Run Road when he lost control of his vehicle while rounding a curve, Pennsylvania State Police said. He was driving a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the 7000 block of Rowe Run Road.

Police said Witherspoon was not wearing a seat belt.

His vehicle rolled several times and came to rest along the east side of the road facing north, police said.




Sheriff's deputies respond to calls



The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following calls, according to Sgt. Roy Harsh:

Monday:

· At 5:32 a.m., shoplifting was reported at Martin's Food Market at 13206 Fountainhead Plaza.

· At 5:46 a.m., Christmas lawn decorations were reported stolen from a yard in the 300 block of Kingswood Terrace and thrown into the street. The items were valued at $350.

Sunday:

· At 8:42 a.m., a cell phone, charger and $8 were reported stolen from a Kia van parked in the 19300 block of Chippendale Circle.

· At 11:42 a.m., a deer lawn ornament was reported stolen from a yard in the 13800 block of Weaver Avenue. The ornament was valued at $100.

Saturday:

· At 4:13 p.m., checks were reported stolen and forged in the 11900 block of Haven Hill Drive.

· At 6:20 p.m., a barn was reported broken into in the 19600 block of Frog Eye Road. Tools, a chain saw and an air compressor were reported stolen. The items were valued between $1,200 and $2,000.

· At 8:03 p.m., a wallet and a purse were reported stolen from the glove box of a vehicle parked at Martin's Food Market, 13206 Fountainhead Plaza.

· At 9:25 p.m., a car was reported entered in the first block of West Poplar Street in Funkstown.

· At 9:33 p.m., a gas drive-off was reported at AC&T in Boonsboro at 725 N. Main St. The Boonsboro Police Department handled the call.

· At 7:10 a.m., a mailbox was reported damaged in the 13000 block of Woodburn Drive.

· At 7:26 a.m., a mailbox was reported damaged in the 13100 block of Woodburn Drive.

· At 10:06 a.m., a home was reported shot with paintballs in the 200 block of East Main Street in Sharpsburg. Spouting also was damaged.

· At 12:31 p.m., a sign for Colonial Motel and Restaurant, 14130 Pennsylvania Avenue, was reported stolen. The sign was valued at $800.




Va. men charged in dealer burglaries



Two Virginia men have been charged with burglarizing car dealerships in several Pennsylvania counties last fall, according to a written release from Pennsylvania State Police.

Curtis Allen, 26, of Winchester, Va., and Jarret Mann, 19, of Stephens City, Va., are charged in connection with 22 separate offenses committed from September 2005 and November 2005 at car dealerships in Franklin, Fulton, Adams and Cumberland counties, the release states.

The men are charged with multiple counts of burglary and theft, Pennsylvania State Police Cpl. John Lawler said.

Police allege the men stole vehicles, vehicle parts, keys and computer hard drives. According to the release, the property was worth about $276,000.

Police said the men were arrested in Woodstock, Va., and are being held at the Shenandoah County Jail awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.




Hagerstown Police respond to calls



The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following calls, according to a written release from Sgt. Paul Kifer:

Sunday:

· At 12:52 a.m., a missing 14-year-old girl was reported returned in the 300 block of Henry Avenue.

· At 1:55 a.m., a missing 16-year-old girl was reported returned in the 200 block of South Prospect Street.

· At 8:30 a.m., money was confiscated in the 200 block of East Antietam Street.

· At 10 a.m., a missing 15-year-old girl was reported returned in the 400 block of West Howard Street.

· At 4:06 p.m., a person was reported injured in the unit block of South Burhans Boulevard.

· At 4:35 p.m., food was reported stolen in the first block of Eastern Boulevard.

· At 5:06 p.m., a person was reported injured in the 100 block of East Avenue.

· At 8:18 p.m., alleged domestic violence was reported in the first block of Berner Avenue.

Saturday:

· At 3:43 a.m., an alleged burglary or theft was reported in the 700 block of South Potomac Street.

· At 7:28 a.m., an alleged theft was reported in the 1300 block of South Potomac Street.

· At 12:52 p.m., an alleged assault was reported at Noland Village.

· At 2:29 p.m., a knife was reported found in the 300 block of Henry Avenue.

· At 3:36 p.m., a beige 1997 Hyundai was reported stolen in the 400 block of Mitchell Avenue. The car had Maryland registration KCA449.

· At 7:50 p.m., alleged domestic violence was reported in the 200 block of East Avenue.
