Gandolfo's New York Deli last week held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new store at the Valley Park Commons at 1580 N. Wesel Blvd. in Hagerstown.
The 2,200-square-foot restaurant, which has seating for 46 people, is the first in the Gandolfo's chain to open in the Tri-State area, said owner Russell Schwartz, the former owner and manager of the Old South Mountain Inn
Schwartz plans to build and open two other Gandolfo's in Washington County.
"One will be opening at the Centre at Hagerstown, near where the Best Buy is under construction. The other will be opening near the former Gold's Gym location, north of town off Pennsylvania Avenue," he said in a prepared release.
Gandolfo's has more than 50 sandwich offerings as well as salads, soups, sides and desserts.
The Wesel Boulevard store is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
