Twelve Days of Christmas

Waynesboro YMCA will hold its "Twelve Days of Christmas" celebration Friday, Dec. 1, through Tuesday, Dec. 12.

The daily events are:

Dec. 1 - Preschool caroling throughout the YMCA building.

Dec. 2 - Craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the YMCA gymnasium. Area vendors will display Christmas ideas.

Dec. 3 - Open swim in pool one. Free open swim, open to the public.

Dec. 4 - Candy Cane/Santa's Letters. Spread Christmas cheer and receive a candy cane. Bring your child's letter to Santa and he will leave a reply at the YMCA.

Dec. 5 - Nursing home Christmas bags. Donate necessary items to be packed in decorated bags to be given to area nursing homes.


Dec. 6 - Coat day. Bring in good used coats to be donated to the local welfare association.

Dec. 7 - Soldiers' Christmas. Donate personal care items and snack food items to be given to troops overseas.

Dec. 8 - Kids craft day and free teen day. Bring your children to the youth center to make a Christmas ornament. Teens get in the YMCA free. This does not include the fitness center.

Dec. 9 - Canned food drive of nonperishable food items to be donated to Human Services.

Dec. 10 - Free Strive Fitness Center day. Free use of the YMCA and the fitness center with "Strive" equipment.

Dec. 11 - Birthday for Jesus. Show your love for Jesus by bringing needed baby items to the YMCA to be donated to Pregnancy Ministries.

Dec. 12 - Cookie day. Cookies and hot coffee will be served all day in the lobby.

Adopt a Family - Pick a present off the tree at the front desk to help a family from the Waynesboro YMCA have a great Christmas. Ideas for the gifts will be attached to the tree. Have the gifts wrapped and brought to the front desk by Monday, Dec. 18. Tag the gift so the YMCA will know who the gift is for. The tree will be available Monday, Nov. 27, through Monday, Dec. 18.
