Sheriff's deputies respond to calls

The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following calls, according to Sgt. Roy Harsh and Lt. Mark Knight:


· At 1:34 a.m., an alleged breaking-and-entering and assault were reported in the 14100 block of Greencastle Pike.


· At 3:27 p.m., an attempted identity theft was reported in the 17600 block of Heisterboro Road in Halfway.

· At 4:10 a.m., an attempted breaking-and-entering was reported at a shed in the 12300 block of Big Pool Road. Two rifles and a chain saw were reported stolen. The items were valued at $1,100.

· At 6:02 p.m., a vehicle was reportedly kicked while parked in Funkstown. There was no estimate on the damage.

· At 10:02 a.m., eight vehicles parked at Hagerstown Ford, 1714 Massey Boulevard, were reported keyed.

· At 11:42 a.m., a bra to a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Catawba Place was reported cut. The bra was valued at $80.


· At 12:43 p.m., tools were reported stolen from a truck parked in the 16600 block of Longstreet Drive. A circular saw, a Makita Sawzall and a Makita disc grinder were reported stolen. There was no value listed for the items.


· At 11 p.m., a window was reported broken on a vehicle parked in the 100 block of South Hall Street in Sharpsburg. A 25-pound rock reportedly was thrown at the vehicle.

· At 9 p.m., a 2003 Lexus was reported keyed at Advanced Auto Parts, 17629 Virginia Ave. Damage was estimated at $700.

· At 1:20 p.m., two tires were reported damaged and phone lines were reported cut at a home in the 18300 block of College Road.

· At 9 a.m., a window was reported broken in a garage in the 300 block of West Main Street in Sharpsburg.

· At 11 a.m., a Honda CRF 450R dirt bike was reported stolen in the 17800 block of Spielman Road.

· At 2 p.m., a flat screen TV and a computer were reported stolen in the 18800 block of Burnside Bridge Road.

Teen boys sought in sex harassment

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Police Department is asking the public to look out for a group of teenage boys or men they allege sexually harassed a 10-year-old girl Monday, according to a news release.

The girl was chased by several teenage boys or men in the 1400 block of Key Parkway, the release states. One of the males slapped the girl on the buttocks, police said.

That male was described as a Hispanic man about 40 years old, weighing about 130 pounds and standing 5 feet 2 inches tall, the release states.

The man was balding and had a gray mustache. He was wearing khaki short pants and a brown or gray shirt, police said.

One of the other males was bald and was wearing a red shirt that had "2" written on it, the release states.

Police ask anyone with information on the group to call Frederick police at 301-600-6235.

Hotel robber sought in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick County Sheriff's Department was searching for a man Tuesday who robbed a Frederick hotel.

According to a press release, a white male about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build demanded money at about 6:30 p.m. Monday from an employee of the Sleep Inn on Spectrum Drive. After taking cash, the suspect fled from the hotel on foot, police said.
