A Greencastle, Pa., couple is accused of stealing a woman's purse outside Borders at the Centre at Hagerstown, according to Washington County District Court records.

John Thomas Green, 35, and Renee Michelle Green, 41, both of 15 Center Square, Apt. 4, are charged with robbery, theft of less than $500 and possession of controlled-dangerous substances paraphernalia, according to court records.

A man identified as Green allegedly got out of a speeding truck in the parking near Borders and grabbed a woman's purse before jumping back into the truck, which hit a pole before leaving the scene on Oct. 17 shortly before 11 p.m., according to a charging document. A woman identified as Renee Green allegedly was driving the truck, according to the document.

When police pulled over a truck matching the victim's description on Oct. 18 near the intersection of Franklin and Potomac streets in Hagerstown, they say they found a device believed to be used to smoke cocaine, according to the document.
