WOMEN'S BASKETBALL



HCC women beat BCC, go to 3-0

BALTIMORE - Latoya Buckner had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds and Marissa Elliot scored 15 points as Hagerstown Community College defeated Baltimore Community College 77-34 in a Maryland JuCo Conference game Wednesday.

The victory is the first for HCC over Baltimore (0-1, 0-1) since the 2002-03 season.

Shavaughn McKenney had 14 points, Teonna Jewell had six points, eight assists, seven rebounds and four steals and Jamie Robinson added 10 rebounds for the Hawks (3-0, 2-0).




MEN'S SOCCER



North High grad namedto all-conference team

Ben McAbee, a 2002 graduate of North Hagerstown, was named as a first team member of the All-Centennial Conference Team in men's soccer. McAbee, a co-captain for Johns Hopkins, leads the team with 10 goals and 27 assists. He is second on his team with seven assists and also has two game-winning goals this season. Hopkins won the Centennial Conference Championship this year and will host a second-round NCAA match on Saturday.
