Plein air paintings

Michelle Sakhai's impasto and impressionist plein air landscapes are on display through November at Contemporary School of the Arts & Gallery Inc., 4 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown. Two friends, two art styles

Works by William Henry Singer Jr. and Dutch artist Willem Dooijewaard - including this sketch, above, by Dooijewaard - are on display at Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, City Park, Hagerstown, in a show called "Among Friends: Drawings by Dooijewaard & Singer." Model train displays at The Train Room in Hagerstown feature the New York Central Railroad, a D.C. transit trolley, men pumping a hand car up and down a hillside and more.
