McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Voters in Fulton County helped edged Republican candidate John Eichelberger Jr. closer Tuesday to winning the 30th district seat in the Pennsylvania State Senate.

With 71 percent of the votes counted districtwide, Eichelberger had a comfortable lead over Democratic opponent Greg Morris, according to incomplete and unofficial results.

Eichelberger received 62 percent of the votes in Fulton County and led Morris 2,685 to 1,600, with all precincts reporting, according to figures from the Fulton County Election Board.

Eichelberger, who lives in Blair County's Freedom Township, defeated longtime incumbent Robert Jubelirer, R-Blair, in the May primary and served three terms as the Blair County Commissioner.

The 30th senatorial district encompasses all of Fulton County, Bedford County, Blair and Huntingdon County, and a small portion of Mifflin County.
