Local artists to hold holiday open house

November 07, 2006

KEEDYSVILLE - Three local artists are teaming up again to present their third annual holiday open house in Keedysville.

Textile artist Barb Twigg and her husband, Andy, are opening their authentic log-cabin home on Mt. Hebron Road Saturday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 19, from noon to 5 p.m.

The cabin, originally on South Main Street in Boonsboro, will display the work of Log Cabin Crafters Beth Rockwell, Janeen Solberg and Barb Twigg.

There will be rug hooking, penny rugs, hand-crafted dolls, and ornaments created from recycled wool and other natural fibers.

Solberg's work centers on pottery such as mugs, bowls, and dandelion vases, as well as necklaces, ornaments and buttons, all crafted from clay.

This year, visitors to the open house also will see a more extensive selection of small antiques for sale, as well as locally made woodcrafts.

From Boonsboro, take Md. 34 to Keedysville, turn left on Keedy Drive and bear right onto Main Street. Turn left on Mt. Hebron Road at the memorial.

Tea and light refreshments will be served.
