Boy charged with several drug offenses



A 16-year-old boy was charged with several drug offenses early Saturday in Hagerstown, according to a press release from the Hagerstown Police Department.

The boy, whose name was not released, was charged with distribution of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine and possession of CDS paraphernalia, according to the release.

An undercover informant picked up the boy in the first block of North Locust Street and bought $50 worth of crack cocaine from him, according to the release

After the boy was arrested, detectives found an additional 14 pieces of crack cocaine and $130 in cash on him, according to the release.

The Department of Juvenile Justice ordered that the boy be released to a responsible adult, according to the release.

The undercover operation was conducted by the police department's Street Crimes Unit.




Man sustains major injuries in Pa. crash

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A 26-year-old man sustained major injuries Friday in an accident on an Interstate 81 ramp in Franklin County, according to press release from Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg.

Police did not release the name of the man, who was driving a 1994 Volkswagen Golf.

A passenger in the car, Janeen Lane Stoner of Greencastle, Pa., received moderate injuries, according to the release.

The accident happened when the Golf and a 2003 Chrysler driven by Ingrid E. Mills, 43, of Chambersburg collided at the northbound ramp of I-81 at Exit 16 along U.S. 30, according to the release.

Mills received minor injuries, according to the release.

Neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing seat belts, according to the release.
