Mediator honored by state group

Community Mediation Maryland (CMM) held its first Conflict Resolution Day Celebration on Oct. 21 at the Garlands Garden Center in Gwynn Oak, Md.

Stephanie Hunter of Washington County was honored at the event for her commitment and dedication to community mediation.

Hunter was presented with a certificate of appreciation by Lorig Charkoudian, executive director of CMM.

Hunter is a teen mediator at the Washington County Community Mediation Center (WCCMC). She is a member of the board, serves on the Youth Advisory Committee and conducts outreach to youth programs. She also helps write grants and news releases.

The Washington County Community Mediation Center, a nonprofit organization, provides free or low-cost mediation to all residents of Washington County for all types of disputes, including family, neighborhood, business and interpersonal conflicts.
