Festival raises money to offset cost of bone marrow transplant

November 02, 2006

The Devin Fales Fall Festival, held at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center, raised nearly $4,000 to help offset costs involved with Devin's recent bone-marrow transplant. Devin, 8, of Keedysville, has Fanconi anemia, which could turn into cancer if he didn't receive the transplant. The event included food, crafts, hay rides, apple bobbing and other games. Members of the Slifer and Dinsmore families helped organize and run the event.
