A book sale at the E.J. Fennel Building in Hagerstown will help the Hagerstown Branch of the American Association of University Women provide scholarships to local students, said organizer Joann Fillingham, branch co-president.
The organization will host its fifth annual fall book sale today through Saturday. The AAUW provided 19 scholarships to female students last year, Fillingham said.
The fall book sale will feature about 4,500 "gently" used books, Fillingham said. Organizers hope to raise at least $6,000, the amount raised last year.
The event is the smaller of the organization's two annual book sales. The spring book sale, held in April 2006, featured roughly 60,000 books.
