Sheriff's deputies respond to calls

The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following calls, Lt. Mark Knight said:


· At 5 a.m., a window was reported shot on a vehicle parked in the 11000 block of Rosewood Drive.


· At 9 a.m., a window was reported broken at a home in the 11000 block of Hickory School Road.

· At 10 a.m., a window was reported broken on a vehicle parked in the 16900 block of Virginia Avenue. The window was valued at $250.

· At 11 a.m., two vehicles' rear driver's side windows were reportedly shot while parked at Hagerstown Honda, 10307 Auto Place. The windows appeared to have been shot with a BB gun.


· At 6:30 p.m., a front door window was reportedly broken with an unknown object in the 11000 block of Rosewood Drive.

Men charged in stolen bottle incident

FREDERICK, Md. - A hammer-wielding man and a man he chased over an allegedly stolen liquor bottle were arrested Monday afternoon in Frederick, according to a Frederick Police Department news release.

An officer conducting surveillance in the area of West South and West Jefferson streets saw the men running toward him and ordered them to stop at about 3:45 p.m., police said.

Paul Harman, 24, was being chased down the street by Marvin Harp, 50, who allegedly was wielding a hammer, the release states.

Harman immediately complied with the officer's orders, but the officer had to draw his gun to force Harp to stop running and drop his weapon, police said.

Police learned Harman allegedly stole a bottle of liquor from Harp.

Harman, of 1758 Carriage Way, was charged with theft less than $500, and Harp, of 106 S. Market St., was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, police said.

Hagerstown Police respond to calls

Hagerstown Police responded to the following incidents:


· 40 block of Avalon Avenue, second-degree assault.

· 60 block of West Franklin Street, damage to property.

· 1000 block of Haven Road, swords confiscated.

· 900 block of Dual Highway, police information.

· 400 block of West Franklin Street, damage to property.

· 50 block of Summit Avenue, deceased person.


· 900 block of Rosehill Avenue, second-degree assault.

· 100 block of High Street, found property.

· 50 block of Broadway, found property.

· 200 block of Belview Avenue, police information.

Man charged in Frederick Co. robbery

FREDERICK, Md. - Maryland State Police charged a 35-year-old man Tuesday with a Frederick County bank robbery.

Joseph Robert Lagana, of no fixed address, was charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, robbery and theft of more than $500, police said. The charges stem from a robbery at SunTrust Bank in Monrovia, Md., that took place Saturday morning.

He was charged for that crime by Maryland State Police.

Police said Lagana also was charged by Frederick Police with crimes related to a stolen vehicle that had been taken in a Howard County, Md., carjacking on Oct. 22.

Md. man reports being robbed in Pa.

STATE LINE, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police were investigating an armed robbery of a Maryland man Monday night at RSVP Massage, 15302 Molly Pitcher Highway.

Police said the robbery occurred at 11:10 p.m. when two men, described as black and in their 20s or 30s held up Christopher Bauman, 33, of Kensington, Md. Police said at least one of the men was armed with a handgun and that several items were stolen from Bauman as he was leaving the business.

Bauman was unhurt. The men drove off in a white Cadillac, police said.

Knoxville woman faces drug charge

FREDERICK, Md. - A Knoxville, Md., woman was charged with drug offenses early Sunday.

Brandie N. Hall, 22, was charged with marijuana possession, Frederick County Sheriff's deputies said.

Her passenger, Georgia D. Eller, 24, of Brunswick, Md., was issued a criminal citation for possession of drug paraphernalia and released from the scene, police said.

Police stopped Hall in the 600 block of Souder Road for failing to stop before entering a highway from a private road.

Police looking for truck in Fulton Co.

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg were looking for a truck they said hit another vehicle as it crossed the center line in Fulton County, according to a press release.

At 8:38 p.m. on Oct. 21, the Ford F-350 crossed the center line and struck another truck driven by a Hancock man, police said. The trucks hit their mirrors together.
