FROSTBURG, Md. - Shawn Cutter scored three goals and assisted on a fourth as Beall downed Boonsboro in the Maryland 1A West quarterfinals.

David Hobel had the fourth goal for Beall (12-1-1), which outshot the Warriors 12-4.

Beall will play Northern in a semifinal game Thursday night at Frostburg State University.

Wildcats eliminated in quarters

ACCIDENT, Md. - Jesse Buchman scored off an assist from Derek Wolfensberger in Williamsport's 3-1 loss to Northern Garrett in the Maryland Class 1A West quarterfinals Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Derek Munro had eight saves for the Wildcats, who finished the season 4-9.

Georgetown Day 5, St. James 0

WASHINGTON - Cyrus Morgan and Richard Salmons combined for 13 saves and No. 6-seed St. James (4-14-1) was outshot 18-4 in a MAC Tournament quarterfinal loss to No. 3-seed Georgetown Day.



Greencastle advances to District 3-AA quarterfinals

HUMMELSTOWN, Pa. - Greencastle lost to Delone Catholic 3-0, but defeated Trinity 3-0 and Schuylkill 2-1 in PIAA District 3-AA pool play Monday to advance to the district quarterfinals.

In the win against Trinity, Amanda Ritchey led the Blue Devils (21-2) with five aces. Against Schuylkill, Kortney Eshleman had seven kills and 20 assists. Julia Stein had seven kills, Beth Berger, Michelle Negley and Rochelle Christman each had six kills and Katie Lutz had five kills. Sabrina Harbaugh had 19 digs and Kelsey Gearhart had seven kills for the Blue Devils in their loss to Delone.

Greencastle will play York Catholic in Dillsburg tonight at 7:30.

South 3, Middletown 1

Brittany Hyatt had 23 assists, 17 digs and 10 service points and Chelsea Weaver had 31 digs and 10 kills for South Hagerstown in a 22-25, 25-21, 25-11, 25-21 win over Middletown.

Rebecca Pearl had 15 service points and seven kills, Desiree Giffin had 15 digs and Kaitlin Beard had nine service points for the Rebels (6-9).

Brittany Tribbett had 19 assists, Casey Berger had 15 digs, Kelsey House added 10 kills and Elli Vandegrift had eight kills for the Knights (1-10).

JV: South, 2-0.
