Jeanne P. Evans, 71



MARCH 5, 1935-OCT. 18, 2006

GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - Jeanne Patricia Evans, 71, of Great Cacapon, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at her home.

Born March 5, 1935, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Hindman Tubman.

She attended Catholic parochial schools in Baltimore.

She retired from Verizon, where she was a specialized clerk.

She was a Catholic.

She is survived by one son, Timothy G. Evans of Great Cacapon; two brothers, Joseph Tubman of Baltimore and John Tubman of Columbia, Md.; three granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; one niece; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa J. Picker.

A memorial service for Jeanne Evans and Lisa Picker will be Saturday at 7 p.m. at Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. The Rev. Daniel Wright will officiate. Burial will be private.

Memorial donations may be made to Morgan County Interfaith Emergency Care, c/o Bill Locke, 44 Bath St., Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.

Lynn K. Timmons Sr., 44



SEPT. 5, 1962-OCT. 29, 2006

Lynn Keller Timmons Sr., 44, of 25 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Sept. 5, 1962, in Washington County, he was the son of Leroy Timmons of Williamsport and the late Catherine Banzhoff Timmons.

He was previously employed by Hagerstown Block Co.

He was a member of North American Rod and Gun Club.

In addition to his father, he is survived by two sons, Donald Timmons of Hagerstown and Lynn Keller Timmons Jr. of Williamsport; one sister, Tanna Timmons of Greencastle, Pa.; three brothers, Dewayne E. Timmons of Williamsport, and Mark Timmons and Anthony Timmons, both of Hagerstown; two stepdaughters, Stephanie Zimmerman of Smithsburg and Tina Zimmerman of Hagerstown; two half brothers, Robert Timmons of Baltimore and Butch Banzhoff of Hagerstown; and one grandson.

A memorial service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing. At his request, he was cremated.

The family requests the omission of flowers.




Ludwig M. Long Sr., 92

Ludwig McClellan "Pete" Long Sr., 92, of Hagerstown, formerly of Williamsport, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village in Hagerstown.

Born Sept. 23, 1914, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late George B. McClellan Long and Alice Shehan.

His wife, Janice Maxine Poffenberger Long, died in 2004.

He retired as a captain with the Division of Corrections for the State of Maryland.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church.

He was a member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion and Mediary Lodge 140 AF/AM, both of Williamsport, and Ali Ghan Temple in Cumberland, Md.

He is survived by one son, Ludwig M. Long II of Big Sky, Mont.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Sara Rockwell.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport. The Rev. Marcia Mayor will officiate.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport, which will be open after 9 a.m.

Charles S. Morgan, 63

HUYETT, Md. - Charles S. "Charlie" Morgan, 63, of Huyett Lane, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, at Washington County Hospital.

Born June 18, 1943, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., he was the son of Hilda Ellen Gordon Morgan of Needmore, Pa., and the late Lloyd Stanley Morgan.

He was formerly employed as a truck driver by K.M. Grimm Trucking, Huyett.

He was a Protestant.

He was a member of Williamsport Loyal Order of Moose Lodge and Sons of the American Legion, Webster B. Harrison Post 26, Hancock.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Melody D. Morgan of Hagerstown; a special friend, Betty Burgan of Hagerstown; two sisters, Gloria Manning of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Connie Jones of Hedgesville, W.Va.; two brothers, William Morgan of Hagerstown and Richard Morgan of Needmore; two grandsons; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. Pastor Johnnie Kelly will officiate. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Cemetery, Big Cove Tannery.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open at 2 p.m.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Lester H. Flora, 93, a resident of Manorcare Health Services, Chambersburg, and formerly of South Mountain, Pa., died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, at the nursing home.

Born Sept. 23, 1913, in Willow Hill, Pa., he was the son of the late David and Gertrude Reed Flora.
